Your support and contributions will enable us to meet our goals and fund our mission.
The Uisge Foundation is a nonprofit founded to advance access to and conservation of clean water.
The goals of The Uisge Foundation’s clean water initiative are to provide community outreach and support for local organizations, projects, and infrastructure; to provide disaster relief aid in the form of water access and water cleanup efforts; and to provide opportunities for field experts to raise awareness and employ innovative clean-water solutions that benefit both communities and the environment.
To accomplish these goals, The Uisge Foundation works with and empowers other nonprofits, field experts and local organizations to ensure safe and secure access to clean water around the globe through fundraising, grants, and microloans.
Access to clean and safe water is not merely a necessity, but an inalienable human right and imperative to the environment. The Uisge Foundation works to ensure this fundamental right is upheld. Water is life, and all living things have a right to this essential ingredient.
The right to water for hygiene and sustenance is a human right derived from the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (ICESCR, Articles 11 and 12) and the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) resolution 64/292 that was adopted by the UN General Assembly in 2010
“the right to safe and clean drinking water and sanitation as a human right that is essential for the full enjoyment of life and all human rights.”
At The Uisge Foundation, we believe that the right to adequate water is realized when every man, woman and child, alone or in community with others, have the physical and economic access at all times to adequate water or means for its procurement.
